About Arpus Brewing Co.

Arpus Brewing Co. is an independent brewery from Latvia, founded in 2017 by craft beer enthusiasts. The brewery is located just outside Riga and loves crafting beers with distinct aromas and flavors.

The name Arpus means, among other things, "outside" and "beyond." This fits their approach: looking beyond familiar recipes and making room for new ideas. Juicy IPAs, fruity sours, and powerful imperial stouts are key parts of their range.

Arpus IPAs

In Arpus IPAs, hop aromas are given plenty of room. Different hop varieties and combinations give each release its own character, featuring notes like citrus, tropical fruit, or stone fruit.

You will also encounter Double IPAs and beers with DDH or TDH designations. These terms refer to dry hopping, where hops are added primarily to enhance the aroma. The flavor, bitterness, and body continue to vary per beer.

Fruited and smoothie sours

Arpus also explores fruit combinations extensively. In their fruited and smoothie sours, you may encounter various fruits together, from berries and stone fruit to tropical flavors.

Some versions are fresh and tart, others are fuller and smoother, with a smoothie-like mouthfeel. The fruit used and the balance between acidity and sweetness determine the direction of the beer.

Imperial stouts and barrel aging

Besides hops and fruit, Arpus makes room for dark, powerful beers. Imperial stouts can combine rich malt flavors with added ingredients or barrel aging.

This allows you to discover yet another side of the brewery. From roasted flavors to the influence of wood and the barrel's previous contents: every version has its own character.
